Using a laptop for architectural purposes is very important for many students, and Asus laptops are known to be durable and have a very good design.
Everything becomes more heightened when you’re a student, as we all know. You are constantly stressed, and it appears that you have an insurmountable workload in front of you. As an architectural student, choosing the right laptop to help alleviate the stress of coursework is critical.
Given the precise nature of architectural work, you must make the right choice when looking for a laptop. Many designers have abandoned pencil and paper layouts in favour of computer-generated images, employing tools such as Photoshop and Grasshopper to create accurate and beautiful designs.
So, if you’re looking for an Asus laptop that can handle all of your design software, look no further. Then take a look at my top 5 Asus Laptops for Architecture Students.
Top 5 Asus Laptops for Architecture students
1. The Asus ZenBook Flip 13S OLED
The Asus ZenBook Flip S is a solid convertible laptop with very few limitations. Being an Ultrabook, it has a lot of thin and light properties that make it a winner among students who have to carry it around with them between classes. However, it doesn’t have any of the limitations that most Ultrabooks have, like; limited power and port variation.
The ZenBook Flip S has a supreme 4K OLED display that makes provides a crystal-clear image of whatever image you are looking at. As well as sporting an impressive PANTONE validated 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. Thus, giving you greater control over all of your projects since you have such a powerful screen. Although it is a 13.3” screen, so it does provide a smaller display than most laptops.
It also has an impressive Intel Core i7-1165G7 Tigerlake CPU that has 4 cores and 8 threads which gives you an extremely impressive clock speed of 3.9Ghz and can be overclocked to hit an impressive 4.5Ghz. It also has 16GB RAM and 1TB PCIe Gen 3 NVMe SSD, all of which provide a very impressive powerhouse of a laptop. However, there is one drawback to this system, and that is its lack of a dedicated graphics card. The Iris Xe integrated graphics limits some of the workloads it can take. All in all, this is still a great system, and it only costs $1250 on Amazon.

|No Headphone Jack
|Graphics; Intel Iris Xe (integrated)
|Intel Graphics is a bit limiting

2. The Asus Vivobook 15 X571
The Asus Vivbook 15 X571 laptop is a very good mid-range laptop that can provide an overall boost in productivity, and as an architectural student, you would have a very good experience when using the computer. The CPU is also an Intel Core i7-10750H, and it is powerful enough to handle a lot of the rigorous software that you would need to handle tasks and projects.
The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 card provides users with a solid foundation to handle 3D programs like Rhino, time-spy and even ArchiCAD. The laptop performs when handling 3D modelling and design as the NVIDIA GTX card can allow users to get the most out of those programs. I found this model on Amazon for $1600, which I think is a reasonable price for what you get.
|CPU: Core Intel Core i7-10750H

3. The Asus ZenBook 13 with OLED display
The Asus ZenBook 13 has an incredible battery and can run for about 13hrs whereas the average laptop can only last about 9 hours. Of course, it’s not just the incredible battery life that helps make this a great laptop. The Asus ZenBook 13 costs less than $1,500 and outperforms the competition.
The biggest trend I can see in laptops that are for architectural students has to be the core i7 processor. This is something that is standard for most architectural laptops because they require a lot of power to process a lot of the programs that would be installed in them. So this model should handle many of the serious programs that would be a requirement for many students.
However, I think one of its biggest drawbacks is its lack of a dedicated graphics card; it only has an Intel Iris Xe graphics processor, which can be a bit of a limit on the kinds of projects and tasks that can be handled by the system. It also has a very comfortable keyboard, which is often overlooked, but the laptop still holds up and should not be underrated. I found this model on Amazon for $1600, which I think is a reasonable price for what you get, although I’m a bit disappointed that there isn’t a headphone jack.

The Asus ROG Strix SCAR 15 is a solid and versatile 15” gaming laptop, and it is one of the best value laptops you can find on the market right now. It provides a very high level of performance with an impressive blend of style and substance.
The display is very impressive as it pairs together a very solid QHD screen with high graphical fidelity and a very strong colour accuracy rating, as well as a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, all of which is set on a 250Hz panel. This should provide users with an unapparelled viewing experience as well as be able to display all generated images in real-time.
However, the most impressive part of this laptop is its CPU and GPU, which pair together to provide an extremely impressive performance. The 12th Gen Alder Lake Core i9-12900H is a top-of-the-line CPU that easily beats out most competitors in terms of performance. Couple that with its impressive NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070TI graphics card, which can produce outstanding performance on 3D-generating models like Rhino and ArchiCAD.
