Top 5 Asus Laptops for Gaming and Video Editing

-

Asus laptops are no doubt one of the best in the market when it comes to gaming and video editing. Generally, video editing gaming does have a lot of requirements that are very similar.

Both gaming and video editing require a lot of space on the hard disk, a very powerful processor, and a lot of space on the RAM. They also both need very precise and high-performing displays.

However, they do share some differences, such as; differences in requirements and colour accuracy ratings on their displays. Where playing games on a PC may require displays with medium colour accuracy ratings, video editing requires a display to have very high colour accuracy ratings so that all images can be edited properly.

While gaming and video editing are very intensive and power-draining tasks, looking for an Asus laptop that can do both is even worse. So, in this article, I will be going through a list of Asus laptops that can handle the tasks of video editing and gaming.

The Asus ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED

Top 5 Asus Laptops for Gaming and Video Editing

1. The Asus ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED

The Asus ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED is an excellent workstation designed to provide users with an incredible working experience. Its Intel 11th Gen Core i7-11800H processor is set up to perform like a beast and handle almost any task put in its way. The NVIDIA RTX A3000 is unlike anything I have ever seen put on a PC, and it shows. Gaming on this PC is like a dream, extremely smooth and endlessly powerful. It has 64GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD.

This Laptop should not be considered a laptop, but it is, and that’s what makes it all the more impressive, and it’s not just impressive on paper. It is able to handle demanding workloads like video editing and 3D graphics like it’s nothing. It has a 4K OLED display with full sRGB and DCI P3 coverage which means all images are seen perfectly and processed perfectly.

It also has special dials that allow you to access various settings and functions, like changing the brush size in photoshop or navigating the timeline in Premier Pro. This is truly a laptop for the creators. I found this model for about $5000 on Amazon, and I have to say that it is an absolutely incredible device and is well worth the money.

2. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14,

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 laptop is powered by an ultra-stable and powerful AMD 4th Generation Ryzen 9 3.0 GHz 8 Core and 16 Thread processors that can be overclocked to 4.3 GHz allowing you to process videos extremely quickly. With a 100% SRGB rating and a 75% Adobe RGB rating, this PC should be able to edit videos with the best possible field and range of colours, which is especially important when editing videos.

With a 1 TB PCIe SSD, you should be able to store as many games and videos as you want. This laptop is relatively light and compact, despite having the superior NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q video card. I also liked the embedded technology, which monitors and controls the system temperature by enclosing the CPU and GPU in proprietary protections.

Furthermore, the battery life here is excellent for light web surfing and other simple computing tasks, with nine hours of use per charge; but this metric drops dramatically once you start gaming, but it does hold up when you are video editing. I found this model on Amazon for $1500, which I think is a reasonable price for what you get.

SpecsProsCons
CPU: AMD 4th Gen Ryzen 9Incredible CoolingScreen Size is a bit small
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q1TB SSDThe Battery drains quickly when gaming

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 14

3. The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 14

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 14 is one of the best laptops on the market for doing a variety of tasks, from video editing to gaming and some general productivity tasks. It supports an extra mini screen just above the keyboard that allows for a lot of fantastic dual work, like streaming your play sessions and interacting with fans via the secondary display.

The punches just don’t stop with the dual screen; the main screen is a powerhouse in its own right, with a superb 14.5” OLED display with a 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and a max brightness of over 500nits with wonderful eye-catching contrast.

It also comes set up with the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i9 processor to mix up to 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti to make sure you can work hard and play even harder. I found this model on Amazon for $2000, and I have to say it is well worth the cost.

The Asus Zenbook 13UX33

4. The Asus Zenbook 13UX33

The Zenbook 13 is a close competitor to the 14, but it has its own advantages. The display is solid, with a 13.3″ FHD display that is 100% sRGB and 70% Adobe RGB. It is backlit, has a maximum brightness of 250nits, which is low but not bad, and it has the standard 16:9 aspect ratio. All of these components come together to form a very good laptop for video editing, and its Intel core i5-1021U processor and 16GB of RAM allow it to breeze through some heavy videos with minimal load times.

However, on the gaming side of things, you should be able to get through some light gaming but nothing too intensive due to its Intel UHD Graphic chip installed.

I found this laptop rather impressive, and it should be able to work very well for any video editor given its high degree of colour accuracy ratings and its ability to produce impressive FHD videos; at $900 on Amazon, it should be a good value for money.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 is a very solid gaming laptop, and it should be a very good laptop for processing and editing videos. The graphics are also excellent, thanks to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU.

The bright, 16-inch, 2560 x 1600-pixel display with a 165Hz refresh rate made games look fantastic on the ROG Zephyrus M16. It also has a 100% SRGB rating and a 100% PCI P3 rating which should let you breeze past any video or photo you plan on editing.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 retails for around $1,900 with an Intel Core i9-11900H CPU, but you could think about getting a setup with a Core i7 CPU if you want to save even more money.
