Asus is a Taiwanese multinational computer hardware and electronics company that is known for its quality budget laptop products. So, how long does an Asus laptop last?
In this article, I will share my thoughts on Asus laptops based on my experience with them. I have been using Asus laptops for over five years now, and I can say that they are definitely built to last. I have never had any major issues with my Asus laptops, and I expect them to last for many years to come.
How long does an Asus laptop last?
Asus laptops are built to last, and their average lifespan is around 4-5 years. However, with proper care and maintenance, your Asus laptop can last even longer.
Tips to Improve the Lifespan of your Asus Laptop
Here are some tips to help you prolong the life of your Asus laptop:
Keep it clean: Dust and dirt can cause your laptop to overheat and break down over time. So, make sure to keep your Asus laptop clean and dust-free.
Protect it from extreme temperatures: Protecting your Asus laptop from extreme temperatures is important in prolonging its lifespan. Avoid leaving it in hot cars or in direct sunlight for long periods of time.
Use it regularly: As strange as this might sound, using your laptop regularly can actually help prolong its lifespan. This is because, by using your laptop regularly, you are helping to keep all the internal components working properly.
Avoid dropping it: Yes, it sounds obvious; unfortunately, over 60% of laptop damages are caused by dropping. The number is surprisingly high because people don’t realise how fragile laptops are. My simple advice to you is to try to avoid dropping your laptop at all costs.
Be careful with the screen: The screen is one of the most fragile parts of a laptop, and you need to take extra care of it. Avoid poking or pressing hard on the screen, as this can damage the display. Also, make sure to clean the screen regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt or fingerprints.
Avoid overcharging your Asus laptop battery: We often get too comfortable with leaving our laptops plugged into a power socket even when it’s 100% charged. However, by doing this, you are actually damaging your laptop battery and reducing its lifespan. Make sure to unplug your laptop once it reaches 100% charge and avoids leaving charging over extended periods, such as overnight.
How long does ASUS Hardware last?
All Asus hardware lasts a varied amount of time, and this is due to two things; the quality of materials used and the level of personal care attributed to an item. However, most hardware is made of the same materials as plastics and aluminium.
So any good product can last anywhere from 5-7 years, but it all depends on how well we look after our hardware and devices. A laptop battery that is constantly over-charged will not last as long as one that is maintained and monitored properly.
However, I was using an Asus Vivobook 14 laptop about a year ago, and I was always impressed with the level of detail and its overall build quality. I can’t count the number of times I dropped my Asus laptop on the floor and picked it up, and continued using it as if nothing happened, unlike my Acer Nitro 5, which fell out of my hands a few times and had to be taken into the shop for repairs.
How Long Is The Warranty On Asus Laptops?
Asus Laptops have a warranty period of between 1-3 years, and all of that is subject to changes depending on where you buy your laptop from. On average, Laptop manufacturers let warranties run for at least 2 years when a product is bought directly from a producer. However, a warranty may last for only one year if the product is bought from a third-party seller. A warranty may vary from 1-4 years depending on the price, cost and level of sophistication of production.
For the duration of the Warranty Period, ASUS warrants the Product to be free of defects in workmanship and materials. The Warranty does not cover bundled accessories that were delivered with the Product, such as cables, bags, mice, and so on.
After contacting an ASUS-authorised service provider, ASUS will provide immediate repair/replacement to customers on end-users based on the product’s warranty policy. Please keep in mind that the product must be complete and free of physical damage.
Is Asus A Good Laptop Brand?
Asus is a very reputable brand and has been producing products for a long time. They have built up a reputation over a long period for being a quality hardware manufacturer, and all of their products are of the highest quality. They are a fantastic laptop manufacturer, and their laptops are not only made of durable materials but also have elegant designs. All of their laptop components are made of high-quality materials to provide a memorable experience to all users.
Laptops like the ASUS Zephyrus g14 is a powerful gaming laptop that provides excellent value for money. It is an excellent choice for gamers looking for a laptop capable of handling demanding games. The Zephyrus g14 is equipped with a fast processor and a high-end graphics card, allowing you to play the latest games at high settings. In addition, the laptop has a large screen and a comfortable keyboard, making it an excellent choice for gaming.
The Asus Vivbook 15 is a very good mid-range laptop that can provide an overall boost in productivity with its sleek design and very good processing power. This allows consumers to have a very good experience when using the computer. Just these two laptops can prove the kind of quality that Asus possess when producing laptops, and these are not all the laptops they produce.
Despite the fact that the two brands are fairly close, Asus may just edge out Lenovo as a brand. It will ultimately come down to which models you are considering and what type of user you are, but in the top-tier sector, Asus has slightly better build quality and performance.
Why are Asus laptops cheap?
Most Asus laptops are fairly priced and are rarely ever very expensive; even their higher-end laptops are comparatively cheaper than some other brands. This is because they practise a competitive pricing model, which helps them stay ahead of the competition, but this does not mean that Asus compromise on the quality of their devices. Asus has built a reputation for producing quality products.
The Asus Vivobook 15 only costs about $650 on Amazon, and for a mid-range core i5, it is fairly cheaper than some of its closest competitors like the Lenovo Ideapad 5 or even the Asus Zephyrus g14 with RTX 3060 GPU is cheaper than its closest competitor the Lenovo Legion 7 which also has an RTX 3060 GPU but costs about $2000 on Amazon while the Zephyrus g14 cost about $1500 on Amazon. So, it is clear to see that Asus have the bandwidth and capacity to reduce their costs and utilise the best research and development to produce so incredible laptops at very competitive prices.
How can a $1.5K Lenovo ThinkPad have the same specs as a $1,000 Asus laptop? I’m referring to the price listed on the manufacturer’s website. Because Asus products are mostly manufactured in Taiwan rather than China, labour unions exist.
