Major League Baseball and Apple have announced the return of “Friday Night Baseball” to Apple TV+ for its fourth season, starting March 28, 2025. The partnership will deliver exclusive weekly doubleheaders to fans across 60 countries, featuring enhanced production quality and no local broadcast restrictions.
The season opener promises exciting matchups, with the Baltimore Orioles hosting the Toronto Blue Jays, followed by the New York Mets facing the Houston Astros. The schedule includes highly anticipated games like the Yankees-Dodgers World Series rematch and appearances by MVP Shohei Ohtani.
“This season delivers top-tier production quality that baseball fans love, with no blackouts and broader device accessibility than ever before,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Sports, and Beats.
The broadcast team remains unchanged for the third consecutive season, featuring Wayne Randazzo, Dontrelle Willis, and Heidi Watney for one game, while Alex Faust, Ryan Spilborghs, and Tricia Whitaker cover the other. The production showcases state-of-the-art technology, including immersive 5.1 Spatial Audio and field-level microphones.
Apple is expanding its baseball content beyond live games. A new Apple Immersive Video experience, “VIP: Yankee Stadium,” will debut next month on Apple Vision Pro, offering viewers unprecedented access to the iconic venue. Additionally, “Fight For Glory: 2024 World Series,” a three-part docuseries produced in partnership with Derek Jeter’s Cap 2 Productions, will provide behind-the-scenes coverage of the Yankees-Dodgers World Series.
The viewing experience has been enhanced with new features, including multiview capabilities on Apple TV 4K and iPad devices, allowing fans to watch up to four simultaneous streams. The free Apple Sports app provides comprehensive coverage with scores, stats, and Live Activities integration for iOS 18 and watchOS 11 users.
Apple has also expanded platform availability, with the Apple TV app now accessible on Android devices through Google Play and as an add-on subscription via Prime Video in select countries. Commercial establishments can access games through DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS’s network of over 300,000 venues.
Subscribers can access Apple TV+ for $9.99 per month, with new users eligible for a seven-day free trial. The service offers additional baseball content, including MLB Big Inning, Countdown to First Pitch, and various highlight shows throughout the season.
