Google has unveiled four groundbreaking AI-powered advertising tools at Google Marketing Live 2025, designed to revolutionise how businesses create and deploy visual advertising content. The new suite of tools leverages advanced AI capabilities to automate content generation, optimise ad performance, and streamline campaign management across YouTube, Google Maps, Discover, and Gmail platforms. Vidhya Srinivasan, Google’s vice president and general manager of Ads and Commerce, stated, “We’re reimagining the future of ads and shopping with intelligent tools that turn challenges into opportunities for growth.”

Four Transformative Tools Unveiled

The first tool, AI Max for Shopping Campaigns, improves ad performance by targeting potential customers earlier in their shopping journey and simplifying brand discovery for specific queries. We’re now experimenting with more visually appealing, shoppable ad formats that are especially useful for prospecting and discovery. These new video ads, which are now being tested in the United States, enable businesses to share video content alongside product information, creating a genuinely interactive experience in which viewers can click on a video to start, hear, and see a shoppable inventory.

Google is expanding its creative solutions with two significant innovations: image-to-video transformation, which is now powered by our latest Veo model and will be available in Merchant Centre and Google Ads in the near future. The second is AI outpainting, which intelligently stretches films beyond their initial frames – the same technology that powers “The Wizard of Oz” at Sphere. Outpainting is presently available in Google Ads App campaigns and will be extended to other campaign types later this year.

The third tool focuses on Demand Gen campaigns, enabling brands to create visually rich ads across Google’s platforms, including YouTube Shorts. These campaigns have demonstrated an impressive 26% year-over-year increase in conversions per dollar spent. The integration with Google Maps via Promoted Pins helps drive foot traffic to physical stores.

Lastly, Google’s enhanced Product Studio and Merchant Center now feature AI-powered content generation and centralised brand management. The “generated for you” feature utilises real-time trend data to suggest campaign ideas and optimise content, whilst the Merchant Center serves as a comprehensive brand content hub.
