Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 vs Bose QuietComfort Earbuds: Which is Better?

-

If you’re looking for a new pair of earbuds to listen to your music, you may be wondering which one is the best: Sennheiser Momentum True wireless 2 vs Bose QuietComfort earbuds.

In this article, I will be comparing the Sennheiser Momentum True wireless 2 and the Bose QuietComfort earbuds to know which has better value for money.

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Design

Design

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 feels a lot bulkier, but the size has been reduced so it can be more secure in the ears, and although the case is pocketable, it still would not fit into the smaller pockets in your jeans. The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 has an IPX4 rating, so it can handle a light rain little sweat, which would be good for your workouts.

The Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds occupy more space in your ear; although they’re not so heavy to the point where you are uncomfortable with the weight but you are still aware of its presence.

However, a good thing is they fit in deeper in the ear canal, so the earbuds are perfectly sealed in, and you do not have to worry about slipping out thanks to the StayHear Max wingtips. This way, you do not have to worry about the possibility of losing your earbuds.

The Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds are also IPX4 rated so they can handle light rain, little sweat and splashes but they would not survive if it is fully submerged in water.

Battery life

 Battery life

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 boast of a total of 21 hours with the charging case and earbuds with 10 minutes of quick-charge capabilities, but in reality, you would have to turn off the active noise cancellation to achieve this feat. So it would be best to keep the Active noise cancellation feature off for a lasting battery, or you have to charge your earbuds constantly.

The Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds have six hours of battery life per charge. Then the case adds another 12 hours on top of that.

With 15 minutes of charging, you will get two hours of playtime even with the active noise cancellation feature enabled, which is just average in comparison with other flagship device like the AirPods.

However, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 has a better battery.

Sound Quality

 Sound Quality

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 has a clear and consumer-friendly sound so the bass and mid-range frequencies are very present. This way, the loud bass notes are emphasised without drowning out vocalists. The balanced sound signature makes anything sound good and offers sound stage and performance at higher volumes. The sound quality is also great for phone calls which keep the caller talking clearly.

The sound quality of the Bose Quiet Comfort earbuds is also fantastic and consumer-pleasant. The bass is deep and defined yet not boomy at all; the mid-range is very clear, which might be due to the high-frequency representation, which is highly accurate and very fast. The Bose noise-cancelling system Bose Quiet Comfort earbuds cancel out high-frequency noise, so you do not have to worry about background bus sounds when you are on the go. The call quality from the Bose Quiet Comfort earbuds is more precise and does not pipe in the noise around you or have that sort of digitised sound to it, and there is no resounding difference over the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2.

Connectivity and control

 Connectivity and control

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 has the Sennheiser smart control app that allows you to make customised changes to your earbuds. With the custom equaliser settings, you have the ability to decide the touch controls commands on each earbud, like turning on the auto-pause to play on or off when you remove each earbud from your ear. You can also set the touch controls to either activate or deactivate the active noise cancelling function or pass-through mode. The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 supports aptX, which helps bring out the best compatible devices.

The touch controls are customisable and pretty responsive, but they are mostly limited. On the left-hand side, you can cycle through three different levels of noise cancelling, while on the right-hand side, you have the basic play pause and track controls depending on whether you double-tap or triple-tap.

It’s limited, but the customisation happens through the Bose Music app. The right earbud can control media playback, volume, phone calls, and your mobile device’s voice assistant and the left earbud allows you to adjust the noise cancellation level and access a customisable shortcut.

The Bose Quiet Comfort Earbuds only stores up to 7 devices in the device list, so it automatically pairs with any devices but starts with the most recently used devices in the device list. You can only get audio from one device at a time.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it is challenging to pick whether the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 is better than the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds or vice versa because each earbud has its own specific strength and weakness so it would be up to you to determine which earbud is best suited for you.

It is a tough choice, but you would have to decide which combination is essential to your taste. Do you need earbuds with the best sound quality and strong battery life, or do you need earbuds with the best active noise cancellation and good connectivity?

You might not be bothered by the intricate specifics and you just need overall good earphones that are pocketable, so these are some of the questions you need to ask to determine which of the earphones is better because generally, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 and the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds are some of the best high end true wireless earbuds available in the market.
