Amazon Opens Johannesburg Office In the move to expand in Africa.

The E-Commerce giant is expanding its presence in Africa; mainly in South Africa at the moment. The company plans to hire over 250 highly skilled engineers, network specialists, account managers and other technologists.
The company is adding a new office in Johannesburg for Amazon-Web Services South Africa.
Amazon, based in Seattle, will employ about 250 people in South Africa, after adding the Johannesburg office to its service center set up in Cape Town in 2004, Steve Midgley, head of Amazon-Web Services in Europe, Middle East and Africa, said in an e-mailed statement.
The new office shows “the investment we are making to support cloud adoption around the world,” Midgley said. “We intend to further accelerate the growth of our cloud customers in Africa and around the globe.” (sources: Bloomberg).
